Job summary

The City of Pasadena, TX is seeking a Maintenance Technician to service City pools and splash pads. You will perform a range of tasks from cleaning and water treatment to repair and preventive maintenance, ensuring facilities meet safety standards.

Duties include testing water chemistry, calibrating equipment, backwashing filters, and maintaining electrical/mechanical systems. On-call availability and proper licensing are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; or technical diploma in mechanical, technical, or construction.
• Valid Texas Class C Driver's License with good driving record.
• Obtain CPR/AED, First aid and Blood Borne Pathogens within six months of employment.
• Must obtain certificate of pool operation (CPO or AFO or equivalent) within six months.
• PREFERRED: Certificate of pool operation (CPO, AFO or equivalent).
• Must obtain Hazard Communication Act certificate within six months.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in swimming pool maintenance or equivalent training.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance on City pools and splash pads, including cleaning and filtration.
• Test and balance water chemistry per state codes.
• Inspect equipment, diagnose issues, and perform repairs.
• Coordinate with vendors and supervise seasonal staff.
• Maintain records and ensure compliance with licenses and certifications.
