Job summary

Nava Public Benefit Corp. is seeking a Policy Strategist to help navigate Medicaid policy and translate analyses into practical recommendations.

You will work with cross‑functional teams to ensure policy decisions are reflected in system behavior, workflows, and user experiences. You will independently research federal and state requirements, define priorities with teams, and stay current on policy trends to improve government program delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience analyzing Medicaid policy and translating analysis into practical recommendations.
• Ability to independently research federal and state requirements and explain options.
• Self‑directed and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Excellent verbal and written communication in technical and policy contexts.
• Ability to document research processes, findings, and recommendations clearly.
• Experience with Medicaid eligibility and enrollment policy (applications, verifications, renewals, notices, appeals).
• Experience working in agile delivery and human-centered design processes.

Responsibilities

• Interpret policy findings and translate them into improvements in program processes, operations, or technology.
• Identify policy questions, propose approaches, and advance work when definitions are incomplete.
• Translate policy into system behavior, workflows, and user experiences.
• Assess regulatory constraints, risks, and edge cases and propose compliant, user-friendly solutions.
• Create policy briefs and decision frameworks to support prioritization and decisions.
• Support testing and validation of policy implementation (scenarios and edge cases).
• Conduct landscape and cross‑jurisdictional research to inform implementation and engagement opportunities.
• Build relationships with external partners to share Nava’s policy expertise.
