Job summary

Nava United is seeking a Policy Strategist to help increase impact within government. You will translate Medicaid policy into actionable system behavior, assist with eligibility workflows, and work across product, design, and engineering teams to ensure compliant, effective solutions.

You will independently research federal and state requirements, identify priorities with teams, and synthesize analyses into practical recommendations that improve service experiences.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience in policy analysis or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience researching and interpreting policy using statutes, regulations, or guidance.
• Strong ability to build and nurture relationships with internal teams and external partners.
• Self-directed and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent verbal and written communication in policy contexts and technical areas.
• Understanding of public programs at multiple government levels.
• Ability to document research processes, findings, and recommendations clearly.

Responsibilities

• Policy Translation & Implementation: translate policy into system behavior, workflows, and user experiences.
• Research, Strategy & Advocacy: monitor evolving policies and translate into implications for implementation and engagement.
• Develop artifacts (policy briefs, decision frameworks, process flows) to support decision-making.
• Support testing and validation of policy implementation (scenario and edge case testing).
