Job summary

The City of High Point Police Department is seeking a Records Technician to support the Records Section, handling requests, processing, coding, and filing police records using RMS and NCIC tools. The role requires strong attention to detail and customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Work entails entering data, handling subpoenas, assisting officers and the public, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal laws while maintaining confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Able to work under general supervision with rotating shifts.
• Excellent oral and written communication and computer skills.
• Successful completion of a polygraph and background investigation required.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Process and manage police records and data entry.
• Respond to information requests from the public and officers.
• Assist public and officers in person, by phone, and by radio.
• Maintain confidential filing and court records.
• Enter data and prepare reports using RMS/CRT/PC systems.
• Prepare subpoenas and ensure compliance with policies and laws.
• Provide reference services to internal and external customers.
