Qualifications

  • General knowledge of modern record keeping procedures and practices.
  • Ability to type accurately and at a reasonable speed; operate data entry equipment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent with typing courses and clerical experience.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and file police records; prepare reports; assist the public; data entry and report accuracy checks.
  • Answer phones at front desk; greet public and provide information to officers and visitors.
  • Enter, file and maintain incident, arrest, accident and field interview/trespass records; issue warrants/orders.
  • Process applications for tax permits/franchises; collect fees and prepare deposits.
  • Access D.C.I. and N.C.I.C. for necessary information; archive police records; assist with investigations.
