Job summary

The City of Citrus Heights is seeking a Police Communications Manager to lead the Communications Center and serve on the Police Department’s Command Staff. You will guide two Communications Supervisors, set goals, and oversee daily dispatch operations in partnership with other divisions.

As a member of the Command Staff, you’ll shape service delivery, analyze data, and implement improvements to support officers and the community.

Qualifications

Seven years of increasingly responsible experience in a law enforcement communications center, including at least two years of supervisory experience.
Experience in a law enforcement records unit/division may be substituted for up to two years.
Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.
Ability to supervise, train, motivate and evaluate staff and coordinate unit activities.

Responsibilities

Administer, direct, and review police dispatch and communication services to meet objectives.
Participate in development and implementation of goals, policies and procedures for the unit.
Direct, coordinate and review the work plan for the dispatch and communications unit.
Analyze data to identify problems and recommend improvements.
Plan and administer the unit budget and staffing, equipment, and supplies.
