Qualifications

• Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university.
• One year of experience researching legal case dispositions or performing records management duties in a law enforcement agency, government, or court setting.
• Valid Class C Texas Driver's License.
• Successful completion of a paralegal certificate from an accredited educational institution within one year of hire.
• Applicants must pass CJIS fingerprint-based background checks; note the stated disqualifications.

Responsibilities

• Tracks and catalogs body camera, in-car camera, and other police video and audio recordings.
• Researches and retrieves requested audio/video reproductions for court, open records, and law enforcement requests.
• Researches criminal case dispositions to determine eligibility for releasing records; coordinates with City Attorney's Office on exceptions within three business days.
• Masks non-participants, juveniles, victims, confidential informants, and undercover officers.
• Redacts confidential information from audio/video records per the Texas Public Information Act.
• Troubleshoots and provides technical assistance related to audio/video systems, retention, storage, and retrieval.
• Coordinates with technology professionals and vendors regarding digital video solutions.
• Provides guidance on Texas Public Information Act laws, city guidelines, and SAPD policies and procedures.
• Assists with procurement and implementation of new equipment and software for records management.
• Performs related duties as required.
