Job summary

UCSF Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician II - Provider to support the California Poison Center System at Valley Children’s Hospital in Madera, CA. You will assess and manage emergency and informational calls from the public, following CPCS guidelines under supervision.

Responsibilities include triaging calls, documenting in EMR, and coordinating referrals to agencies while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of medical and pharmaceutical terminology.
• Ability to exercise appropriate judgment with policies and triage calls to other hotline staff.
• Experience working in a poison center or managing emergency health related calls.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet Explorer, and database record entry and retrieval.
• Excellent demonstrated record of attendance and punctuality.

Responsibilities

• Providing initial management advice and follow-up for emergency and informational calls to CPCS.
• Work with Specialists in Poison Information under CPCS policy and guidelines.
• Manage and triage calls to other staff per CPCS policies.
• Document all consultations in an electronic medical record.
• Assist in developing written materials as requested.
• Provide referrals to and alert governmental agencies when appropriate.
