Job summary

UCSF Health in California is seeking a Pharmacy Technician II - Provider to support the California Poison Center System at Valley Children's Hospital in Madera. You will assess calls, provide initial management advice, and triage according to CPCS guidelines.

Under supervision of Specialists in Poison Information, you will document cases, assist in developing materials, and coordinate referrals to governmental agencies when appropriate.

Qualifications

• Licensed Pharmacy Technician by the California Board of Pharmacy.
• Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a Specialty or Retail Pharmacy.
• Excellent verbal communication and medical terminology knowledge.
• Ability to triage calls following CPCS policies and guidelines.
• Experience in a poison center or emergency health calls preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer hotline calls, obtain history, and assess potential exposures.
• Triage emergency calls according to CPCS guidelines and consults with Specialists.
• Provide information to callers clearly and professionally.
• Document all case details in the electronic medical record.
• Assist in developing written materials and arrange referrals when needed.
