Job summary

Minnesota Daily is seeking a part-time Podcast Producer who is a University of Minnesota student. The role involves reporting, gathering audio, recording and editing assistance for the podcast, with a bi-weekly ~1,200-word episode schedule.

Responsibilities include meeting deadlines, proofreading for facts/grammar and ethics, attending weekly meetings, staying updated on local and campus news, and performing other tasks as assigned by the Managing Editor and podcast editor.

• Willingness to learn new podcasting equipment and reporting techniques.

Responsibilities

• Reporting and gathering audio, sound recording, and editing assistance with the podcast.
• Ensure all deadlines are met, and podcast needs are fulfilled.
• Assist podcast editor in proofreading the podcast for fact or grammar errors, as well as ethical questions.
• Attend weekly meetings.
• Keep current on University and local news topics by reading local newspapers and news sites.
• Other duties as assigned by the Managing Editor and podcast editor.
• Report, write, and record ~1,200-word episodes on a bi-weekly basis.
