Job summary

The Minnesota Daily in Minneapolis is seeking a City Staff Reporter to cover campus news. This part-time role runs up to 15 hours per week and is paid on a per-piece basis with published rates; there is no hourly wage, guaranteed minimum, or cap. You will generate story ideas, gather sources, and work with editors to shape angles and sourcing while meeting all deadlines.

Journalism school is not required. Applicants must be a University of Minnesota student, with strong writing and familiarity

Qualifications

• Must be a University of Minnesota student.
• Strong writing ability; grammar and style essential.
• Familiarity with the University of Minnesota campus preferred.
• Willing to cultivate a lively social media presence.
• You do not need to be in the journalism school to apply.

Responsibilities
