Job summary

The Minnesota Daily is seeking student writers to cover the University of Minnesota arts scene. You will be responsible for producing two or more stories per week, developing story ideas, and maintaining source contacts.

You will work closely with editors to determine angles and sourcing, and you should think creatively about news presentation, including photos and graphics. Deadlines matter, and students from all majors are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

• Must be a University of Minnesota student.
• Success in a University writing-related class strongly advised (knowledge of grammar, style conventions, etc. is essential).
• Strong interest in the Minneapolis arts scene.
• Familiarity with the University of Minnesota campus preferred.
• Should be willing to cultivate a lively social media presence.
• We welcome applicants from all majors and backgrounds.
