Job summary

Atlantic Health is seeking a Medical Lab Scientist to oversee Point of Care Testing across multiple departments and offsite practices. You will ensure regulatory compliance, promote patient safety, and support efficient workflows under supervision of a CLIA General Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory, chemical, physical or biological, or an associate degree with related training.
• Foreign credentials require US equivalency documentation.
• ASCP, AMT or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process and accession specimens for POCT, accepting or rejecting per guidelines.
• Perform tests following approved SOPs and report results with clinical correlation.
• Use HIS/LIS software proficiently in all duties.
• Operate, validate, and troubleshoot POCT equipment per SOPs.
• Follow quality control procedures and maintain calibration records.
• Participate in proficiency testing and ensure samples are handled like patient specimens.
• Manage inventory and expiration dates; assist training of staff and students.
• Adhere to Atlantic Health safety procedures.
