Specimen Processing and Accessioning: Evaluates specimens and test orders for acceptability and accepts or rejects according to guidelines.
Specimen Testing: Follows approved standard operating procedures.
Result Reporting: Correlates test results with diagnosis and prior results.
Computer Skills: Proficient in HIS and LIS software.
Equipment Operation: Operates, maintains and troubleshoots technical equipment.
Quality Control: Documents instrument calibrations and maintenance per policies.
Proficiency Testing: Participates in proficiency testing and treats samples as patient specimens.
Inventory Management: Manages stock and expiration dates to ensure availability.
Training: Assists with team and student training.
Safety: Follows department safety procedures.
