Job summary

Georgia Power is seeking a Project Controls Cost Analyst to support the Transmission PMO. You will oversee capital project budgets, perform cost analysis, and develop regular and ad hoc financial reports to keep stakeholders informed.

Responsibilities include EAC analysis, month-end close support, and ensuring timely change management. Travel for storm logistics and other needs is possible as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Understanding of GAAP and/or Project Cost Control Principles.
• Advanced degree or CPA/PE/PMP certification is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor projects’ performance against budget baselines and milestones.
• Prepare budgets and perform financial analysis, reporting.
• Extract and develop regular and ad hoc reports from financial systems.
• Perform estimate-at-completion (EAC) analysis considering contract, expenditures and other trends.
• Ensure timely and accurate change management processes.
• Support month-end close activities: accruals, journal entries, cost transfers, and variance analysis.
• Lead and contribute to special projects as required.
• Identify and address gaps in documentation, training, and reporting.
• Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support PMO objectives.
• Provide guidance on accounting, finance, and compliance matters.
• Occasional travel and extended overnight stay for storm logistics and other needs.
