Job summary

FirstEnergy Corp is seeking a Business Analyst for the PMO in Columbus, OH. The role involves enhancing program reporting, identifying risks, and monitoring initiative progress to drive accountability and collaboration.

Location preference is Akron, OH, with flexibility across service territory. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in financial analysis, reporting, and cross-functional collaboration, with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and BI tools.

Qualifications

• Two-to-four-year degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering or related discipline required.
• In lieu of a degree, minimum 10 years' related work experience required.
• Relevant work experience includes financial forecasting & analysis, cost flow oversight, expense verification & correction, project management controls, strategic financial planning, or portfolio management.
• Proven experience in program management for measuring success.
• Strong understanding of project management skills and risk identification.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interpret and communicate data.
• Strong analytical, decision making, planning, and problem-solving skills are necessary.
• Be a team player and able to collaborate across FE business units.

Responsibilities

• Develop weekly workstream and monthly leadership reports.
• Monitor and report progress against program plans and provide presentations to leadership and other ad-hoc data requests.
• Collaborate with Program Managers, Engineering, Construction and Reliability groups to evolve reporting and measure success.
• Independently anticipate and meet internal/external customer needs.
• Develop solutions for complex assignments while actively seeking ways to add value within scope of assignments.
• Promote a sense of urgency in the team for reaching goals and meeting deadlines.
• Demonstrate the ability to forge effective working relationships with employees and vendors/consultants.
• Support continuous improvement activities across the business unit and FirstEnergy.
