Job summary

FirstEnergy is seeking an Analyst to ensure accurate internal management reporting and external financial reporting. The role is based at the Akron corporate headquarters and reports to the Director of Reporting and Corporate Business Services.

Responsibilities cover monthly reporting, SEC/regulatory disclosures, budgeting, investor relations materials, and audits. Strong analytical skills and communication are essential to success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field; MBA a plus.
• 4–7 years of relevant work experience.
• Strong financial acumen and ability to connect data to business decisions.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; advanced Excel preferred.
• Familiarity with QlikView or other reporting tools; SAP knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and distribute monthly internal reports.
• Assist with SEC and regulatory reporting and disclosures; MD&A.
• Prepare materials for investor relations.
• Assist in budget and forecast processes.
• Support external auditors and provide financial analysis for ad hoc projects.
• Develop solutions to improve accuracy and efficiency of processes.
• Collaborate with finance, accounting, operations and other departments.
