Job summary

University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is seeking an Electronic Specialist II Retiree in Facilities Management to support PMCS and medium-voltage maintenance. This temporary appointment focuses on PMCS logic, software updates, and I/O modules to ensure reliable power transfer between utility and backup systems.

Based onsite in Aurora, the role involves assisting with outages, testing, infrared scanning, and preventive maintenance on electrical systems, switchgear, and transformers.

Qualifications

• Experience with computerized Power Management Control Systems (PMCS), including system logic, software updates, and I/O modules.
• Experience with medium-voltage electrical systems, switchgear, substations, transformers, breakers, and relays.
• Experience supporting electrical outages, power-transfer operations, preventive maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and repairs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planned outages and replacement of switchgear breakers that do not transfer power correctly.
• Repair PMCS logic so breakers engage correctly during outages and transfers.
• Update PMCS software and replace I/O modules.
• Perform medium-voltage equipment maintenance and testing.
• Conduct infrared scanning of electrical connections and testing of breakers/relays.
• Test breakers in switchgear serving campus buildings to meet code requirements.
• Inspect, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems.
