Job summary

Qualifications

Experience with computerized Power Management Control Systems (PMCS), including system logic, software updates, and I/O modules.
Experience with medium-voltage electrical systems, switchgear, substations, transformers, breakers, relays.

Responsibilities

Assist the electrical team with planned outages and replacement of switchgear breakers that do not transfer power correctly between utility and emergency backup power.
Repair PMCS logic so breakers engage correctly during outages and when transferring back to utility power.
Update PMCS software and replace I/O modules.
Perform or assist with medium-voltage equipment maintenance and repairs, including utility transformer oil sampling and testing.
Conduct infrared scanning of electrical connections and complete testing of automatic transfer operation breakers and relays.
Test breakers in switchgear serving campus buildings to support applicable code requirements.
Inspect, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems, and respond to power, electrical, and fire alarm emergencies.
