The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is seeking an Electronic Specialist II Retiree to support the Power Management Control System (PMCS) and maintain/repair medium‑voltage equipment across campus facilities.
This temporary retiree role focuses on PMCS logic corrections, software updates, and I/O module replacements to ensure reliable power during outages and transitions between utility and backup power.
The Electronic Specialist II Retiree supports the availability and reliable distribution of electrical power across the University of Colorado campuses. This temporary retiree appointment will provide specialized knowledge and expertise to support the Power Management Control System (PMCS) and medium-voltage equipment maintenance, testing, and repairs. The work will focus on correcting PMCS breaker-transfer logic, updating software and I/O modules, and assisting with outages and breaker replacements so campus research buildings can transition reliably between utility and emergency backup power.
Onsite – this role is expected to work onsite at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, Colorado. The position performs hands-on work with campus electrical systems, switchgear, substations, PMCS components, and planned outages.
Join the Facilities Management electrical team in work that directly supports safe, reliable electrical power for campus operations and research buildings. This appointment offers an opportunity to apply specialized institutional and technical knowledge to modernize the PMCS, improve monitoring capability, and support critical medium-voltage maintenance and testing.
The hiring rate for this position has been established as $46.12 per hour. The above hiring rate represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the applicable employment classification.
