Job summary

The Country Club of Birmingham is seeking a kitchen cook to prepare food in accordance with club recipes and standards, primarily during PM shifts. You will set up service stations, portion and present dishes, and work weekends and holidays as required.

In this role you will support the Sous Chef, maintain sanitary work areas, and help ensure safety and quality across all kitchen tasks. Previous kitchen experience is preferred and flexibility is essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience preferred.
• Be able to work a variable schedule including weekends and holidays.
• Work well in a team setting.
• Ability to stand, walk, and move around the kitchen for long periods of time.
• Be organized and capable of multi-tasking.
• Be able to perform all front office functions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare all required items.
• Sets up service units with needed items.
• Serves items in accordance with established portions and presentation standards.
• Notifies Sous Chef of expected shortages.
• Ensures that assigned work areas and equipment are clean and sanitary.
• Assists the Sous Chef in maintaining security and safety in the kitchen.
• Maintains neat professional appearance and observes personal cleanliness rules at all times.
• Sets up, maintains and breaks down cook station.
• Adheres to state and local health and safety regulations.
• Covers, dates and neatly stores all leftover products that are re-usable.
• Maintains the highest sanitary standards.
• Assists with other duties as assigned by Sous Chef.
