Job summary

The Country Club of Birmingham is seeking a full-time kitchen cook for PM shifts. You will prepare items per club recipes, set up service stations, and maintain sanitary standards throughout service. Reports to the Sous Chef and works weekends and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities include portion control, inventory awareness, keeping stations clean, and supporting the Sous Chef with safety and organization in a fast-paced club kitchen.

Qualifications

• Previous experience preferred.
• Be able to work a variable schedule including weekends and holidays.
• Work well in a team setting.
• Ability to stand, walk, and move around the kitchen for long periods of time.
• Be organized and capable of multi-tasking.
• Be able to perform all front office functions.

• Sets up service units with needed items.
• Serves items in accordance with established portions and presentation standards.
• Notifies Sous Chef of expected shortages.
• Ensures that assigned work areas and equipment are clean and sanitary.
• Assists the Sous Chef in maintaining security and safety in the kitchen.
• Maintains neat professional appearance and observes personal cleanliness rules at all times.
• Sets up, maintains and breaks down cook station.
• Adheres to state and local health and safety regulations.
• Covers, dates and neatly stores all leftover products that are re-usable.
• Maintains the highest sanitary standards.
• Assists with other duties as assigned by Sous Chef.
