Job summary

Bon Appétit Management Company is seeking an energetic PM Assistant Café Manager (Summit) in San Bruno, CA. The role partners with the Café Manager to oversee daily operations, lead a talented team, and ensure top‑notch service while maintaining safety, quality, and client satisfaction.

The position requires a strong safety culture, one year of supervisory experience in premium food service, and excellent communication. Competitive salary and benefits are included.

Qualifications

• Associates degree preferred or equivalent professional experience.
• Demonstrated ability to drive and enhance a culture focused on Food and Workplace Safety.
• Minimum of 1 year supervisory experience in a high‑volume, premium food service or hospitality environment.
• Prior experience in a restaurant, café, hotel, or high‑end events environment is a plus.
• Ability to integrate diverse perspectives to build a cohesive team culture.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with guest‑facing hospitality.
• Proficient in computer and technical skills, including Google Suite.
• ServSafe Certification preferred and union environment experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Rigorously manage safety standards, including allergen controls.
• Attend monthly safety meetings and inspections; ensure compliance with benchmarks.
• Establish and maintain hospitality that is warm, inclusive, and guest‑focused.
• Participate in selection and ongoing training of front‑of‑house staff.
• Monitor financial and budgetary responsibilities while maintaining efficiency.
• Meet payroll, service reports, AR, and HR documentation timelines.
• Operate web‑based ordering systems and manage menu updates.
• Collaborate with Cafe Manager and client stakeholders to meet objectives.
