Job summary

Bon Appetit is seeking an Assistant Café Manager in San Bruno, CA to lead daily cafe operations and deliver world-class service alongside the Café Manager.

You will ensure safety, adherence to guidelines, staff development, and financial stewardship while maintaining guest satisfaction. The shift is 6:00am–3:30pm, Monday–Friday, with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Associates degree is preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
• Safety leadership to drive Food and Workplace Safety culture.
• Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience in high-volume premium food service.
• Experience in restaurant/café/hotel/high-end events is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to lead a diverse team.
• ServSafe Certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Rigorously manage safety standards, including allergen management.
• Attend safety meetings and ensure daily operations meet safety benchmarks.
• Establish and maintain hospitality standards that engage guests.
• Develop and upskill front-of-house staff and supervise team members.
• Monitor financial and budgetary responsibilities while ensuring efficiency.
• Meet payroll, service reports, AR, and HR documentation timelines.
• Operate web-based ordering systems and update menus as needed.
• Maintain strong communication with Café Manager and client stakeholders.
