Bon Appetit is hiring an Assistant Café Manager in San Francisco. You will oversee daily café operations alongside the Cafe Manager, ensuring food quality, safety, and exceptional guest service.

You’ll develop and coach staff, manage safety standards, and maintain strong client relations to meet performance goals. Join a team that emphasizes learning, growth, and a culture of safety, with a focus on local sourcing and high-end service throughout the venue.

Qualifications

• Associates degree is preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
• Safety Leadership: drive and enhance a culture focused on Food and Workplace Safety.
• 1 year of supervisory experience in a high-volume, premium food service or hospitality environment.
• Prior experience in restaurant, café, hotel, or high-end events is a plus.
• Inclusion: integrate diverse perspectives to build a cohesive team culture.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with guest-facing hospitality.
• Proficient in computer and technical skills, including Google Suite tools.
• ServSafe Certification is preferred.
• Experience in managing in a Union Environment is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Rigorously manage safety standards, including allergen management, to ensure guest well-being and compliance.
• Establish and maintain a warm, inclusive hospitality standard.
• Lead and train front-of-house staff; participate in ongoing development.
• Monitor financial and budgetary responsibilities while maintaining efficiency.
• Meet payroll, reports, accounts receivable, and HR documentation deadlines.
• Operate web-based ordering systems and manage menu updates.
• Maintain communication with Cafe Manager and client stakeholders to meet cafe objectives.
• Attend monthly safety meetings and ensure daily operations meet safety benchmarks.
