Job summary

Electrical Automation Services seeks an experienced PLC Controls Engineer to support a Glendale, AZ facility on a 12-hour day rotation. You will program and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLCs on high-speed beverage lines, mentor staff, and drive automation projects to improve throughput and reliability.

The role requires 4+ years in industrial automation, strong PLC/HMI/VFD/servo skills, and the ability to read schematics. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Hands-on PLC programming, not just troubleshooting.
• 4+ years of industrial automation on high-speed lines (beverage/CPG/food).
• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Strong communication across plant departments.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary on-shift controls and automation expert.
• Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 troubleshooting for automated processing, filling, canning, conveying and packaging equipment.
• Diagnose PLC, HMI, VFD, servo, instrumentation, motion-control, and industrial-network issues and restore production safely.
• Identify recurring equipment problems and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Develop and execute controls projects to improve safety, quality, reliability and throughput.
• Participate in the Management of Change process for controls and modifications.
• Maintain PLC and HMI backups, documentation, and change records.
• Support commissioning, upgrades, and system integration projects.
• Provide technical leadership, training, and mentorship to maintenance staff.
