Job summary

Advanced Micro Devices in Santa Clara, CA is seeking a dynamic Platform Thermal Lead to guide the Server Platform Thermal Mechanical (SPTM) team. You will represent, debug, and triage system-level thermal issues while supporting SOC architects with power and thermal modeling.

As a senior leader, you will drive technical strategy, collaborate across teams, and ensure timely validation and optimization of features through advanced CFD tools and lab equipment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Experience leading thermal mechanical teams and projects.
  • Strong diagnostic and debugging skills for SOC programs.
  • Proficiency in programming/scripting (C/C++, Python).
  • Familiarity with CFD tools and lab equipment.
  • Ability to drive tasks independently.

Responsibilities

  • Drive technical innovation to improve validation, including tool/script development, methodology enhancements, and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Debug issues during bring-up, validation, and production phases of SOC programs.
  • Work with multiple teams and track test execution to ensure features are validated and optimized on time.
  • Collaborate closely with supporting technical teams.
  • Engage in other software/hardware modeling frameworks.
  • Lead a collaborative approach with multiple teams.
