Job summary

Lam Research in Tualatin, OR is seeking a Product Engineer in the Platform Global Product Support team. You’ll be the backbone of technical support for field engineers, technicians, and product support personnel, diagnosing and debugging complex semiconductor equipment.

Collaborate with design and software teams to resolve issues, prepare reports on design, reliability, and escalations, and assist with customer installations and training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 5+ years experience or a Master’s degree in Material Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Optics, Physics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field with 3+ years of experience; or a PhD with no previous professional experience; or equivalent experience.
• Excellent written/verbal communication, fluent in English, and strong presentation skills.
• Capable of structured problem solving (preferably using 8D methodology).
• Teamwork and ability to establish successful relationships in a multicultural environment with external and internal customers.
• Service orientated and ability to work in a matrix environment.
• Comfortable traveling up to 25% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to field engineers, technicians, and product support personnel diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and debugging complex equipment.
• Respond to situations where first-line product support has failed to isolate or fix problems, including failure analysis.
• Report design, reliability and maintenance problems to design/software engineering; participate in customer installation and training.
• Provide support to customers/users where the product is highly technical or sophisticated.
• Create and present reports on design, reliability, maintenance problems, SW bugs, projects, and escalations; update documentation for field service engineers and customers.
• Work in a cleanroom lab and/or customer semiconductor fab environment.
