Job summary

Wayve in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking a Software Engineer on the Platform Integration Team to lead hands-on software bring-up for new vehicle programs, turning them into stable robot systems and building reusable vehicle-facing components.

You will work across hardware, safety, controls, and reliability, debugging with logs and telemetry, and shaping architectures and tooling to enable faster, safer, and more scalable vehicle integrations.

Qualifications

• Strong C++, Python, and Rust with production-grade software.
• Experience on Linux-based robotic or automotive platforms.
• Familiarity with ROS2 middleware and node development.
• Hands-on integration with vehicle or embedded hardware.
• Experience with vehicle sensors: calibration, synchronization, data validation.
• Experience with automotive high-performance compute platforms.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the software bring-up of new vehicle programs, supporting bench, HIL, and on-vehicle integration activities, including hands-on work at international test locations.
• Design, develop, and maintain vehicle-facing software components and shared frameworks that improve reliability, abstraction, and reuse across vehicle programs.
• Improve the stability of early-stage vehicles by diagnosing integration issues, implementing fixes where appropriate, and driving issues through to resolution with relevant teams.
• Identify and deliver architectural improvements that reduce bespoke changes and make future vehicle integrations faster and more predictable.
• Build and maintain tooling, diagnostics, and metrics to monitor robot software performance and enable continuous reliability improvements.
• Produce clear documentation and runbooks to support knowledge transfer and long-term maintainability.
