Job summary

Wayve in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking a Software Engineer on the Platform Integration Team. You will perform hands-on software bring-up for new vehicle programs, design vehicle-facing components, and collaborate across hardware, safety, and reliability groups to enable safe, scalable deployments.

The role requires strong C++, Python, and/or Rust skills, ROS2 experience, Linux-based automotive software experience, and familiarity with CAN/Automotive Ethernet. Hybrid work is available in Sunnyvale.

Qualifications

• Strong software development experience in C++, Python, and/or Rust delivering production-quality systems.
• Experience on Linux-based robotic or automotive platforms with multi-process or distributed systems.
• Experience with ROS2 or similar robotics middleware and node development.
• Hands-on integration with vehicle or embedded hardware, using logs and telemetry for debugging.
• Experience with vehicle sensors: calibration, synchronization, data validation.
• Experience with automotive-grade high-performance compute platforms (e.g., NVIDIA DRIVE, Qualcomm Snapdragon Ride).
• Systems-level debugging across software and hardware boundaries.
• Familiarity with CAN and Automotive Ethernet and debugging tools.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to software bring-up of new vehicle programs with bench, HIL, and on-vehicle work.
• Design and maintain vehicle-facing software components and shared frameworks.
• Diagnose integration issues and drive fixes to resolution with relevant teams.
• Deliver architectural improvements to reduce bespoke changes and speed future integrations.
• Build tooling, diagnostics, and metrics to monitor robot software performance.
• Create documentation and runbooks for knowledge transfer and maintainability.
• Collaborate with hardware, safety, controls, calibration, and reliability teams.
