Job summary

Wayve is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Fleet Management team in Sunnyvale, CA. You will build and operate fleet infrastructure that connects engineers to vehicles on public roads, with a focus on reliability and scalability in a hybrid work setup.

You will take projects end-to-end from problem definition through design, implementation, deployment, and production operation, collaborating with Research, Safety, Operations, SRE, and Infrastructure to deliver impactful solutions for

Qualifications

• Significant experience building production-grade full-stack applications and services.
• Strong knowledge of React, TypeScript, and backend languages (Rust/Go/Node.js).
• Experience designing and operating APIs and web services.
• Experience with distributed systems and microservice architectures.
• Familiarity with observability tools and data-driven decision making.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with product and ops teams.
• Interest in mentoring engineers and contributing to technical direction.

Responsibilities

• Build reliable distributed services for deploying software and AI models across vehicles.
• Support robotaxi operations with interfaces to external dispatch services.
• Develop scalable APIs, dashboards, and interfaces for visibility into vehicle state.
• Create data pipelines and analytics tools for telemetry and performance metrics.
• Contribute to end-to-end ownership from problem definition to production operation.
• Engage in design reviews and help grow engineering practices.
• Collaborate with Research, Safety, Operations, SRE, and Infrastructure.
