Job summary

Wayve in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking a senior Robot Software Engineer to maintain and extend the Linux-based software stack for our on-vehicle experimentation fleet. You will own kernel and driver development, work with ROS IPC, and help harden the system for reliability across remote deployments.

You will collaborate with the OS team and hardware, focusing on Yocto-based builds, secure boot, and debugging performance bottlenecks to enable rapid iteration of autonomous driving features.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in building and maintaining embedded Linux software.
• Experience delivering high-performance embedded systems in C/C++.
• Strong understanding of Linux kernel, drivers, and boot sequences.

Responsibilities

• Own Linux kernel and device drivers for on-vehicle systems.
• Collaborate with Product, Project and Engineering management to build the right solution.
• Develop high-performance embedded software in C/C++ for automotive use.
• Create robust, fault-tolerant software with diagnostics for the deployed fleet.
• Lead by example in testing, documentation, tooling and collaboration.
