Job summary
super is seeking a seasoned engineering leader to head the Platform Foundation team, responsible for the internal service framework powering hundreds of production services. You will scale the backend team from 5 to 8+ engineers, shape technical direction, and own hiring, growth, and stakeholder relationships.
You will partner with two tech leads to clarify leadership vs delivery, drive platform reliability, and foster adoption across internal teams while partnering with the Infrastructure/SRE
Qualifications
- Experience growing a backend or platform team.
- Proven track record leading platform/infrastructure teams.
- Ability to discuss distributed systems with architects.
- Strong collaboration with SRE/Infra teams.
Responsibilities
- Own the core service framework, including runtime and storage/streaming SDKs.
- Oversee platform CLI and developer tooling for storage, search, caching, observability, and autoscaling.
- Hire, onboard, and grow engineers, creating growth paths for juniors.
- Drive platform reliability and adoption across internal teams.
- Co-own platform uptime and DR with Infrastructure/SRE and define shared boundaries.
