Zocdoc is the leading digital health marketplace that helps patients find and book the care they need. We’re expanding our Platform Engineering to build backend and AI development platforms that scale with the business and customer demand.

You will lead a portfolio of engineering teams, translate vision into a multi-year plan, and partner with Compliance, Security, and Infrastructure to deliver reliable, secure platforms. This role emphasizes inclusive leadership and measurable outcomes.

Qualifications

• 10+ years building and shipping software in platform or infrastructure.
• 4+ years leading multiple engineering teams with portfolio responsibility.
• Deep expertise in one or more platform domains (dev platforms, CI/CD, cloud infra).
• Strong architectural judgment in distributed systems, reliability and security.
• Experience turning technical vision into measurable business outcomes.
• Experience integrating AI tooling with guardrails and governance.
• Clear, proactive communication and ability to lead inclusive teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow Platform Engineering teams through managers and senior engineers.
• Set multi-year portfolio strategy and roadmap with investments and sequencing.
• Translate leadership direction into priorities, guardrails, and execution plans.
• Resolve cross-team trade-offs in sequencing, reliability, and operations.
• Establish safe, measurable patterns for AI-assisted development with guardrails.
• Treat platforms as products; drive adoption and measure outcomes.
• Own portfolio reliability and on-call health, driving learning from incidents.
• Align with cross-functional partners and hire exceptional leaders.
