Zocdoc is hiring a Staff Engineer to own the technical architecture for the Provider Engagement Platform. You will design data pipelines, integrate ML models, and ensure API contracts across platform services. This role blends data infrastructure with product surfaces to power personalization at scale.

Expect to lead cross-functional teams, mentor engineers, and navigate ambiguous problems in a fast-paced healthcare tech environment at our Soho office with a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with demonstrated technical leadership.
• Experience building data-intensive systems, event pipelines, or real-time data serving.
• Comfort integrating ML into products with Data Science collaboration.
• Strong API and data modeling skills for evolving schemas and interfaces.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and break vision into milestones.
• Excellent communication and clear design doc writing.
• Proven track record of shipping high-quality systems.

Responsibilities

• Technical ownership of Zocdoc's Provider Engagement Platform, including roadmapping and prototyping.
• Design the unified practice intelligence layer and real-time profiles for personalization.
• Architect event pipelines to capture engagement signals and health scores for ML models.
• Define APIs and contracts between platform services and product surfaces.
• Make build-vs-buy decisions for infrastructure components.
• Mentor engineers and promote best practices in code health, testing, and observability.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, designers, and data scientists.
