Zocdoc is hiring a Staff Engineer to own the technical architecture of the provider engagement platform. You will design data pipelines and ML-integrated services that power personalization and cross-team features.

You’ll work with data scientists and engineers to ship production systems, APIs, and scalable pipelines, while mentoring peers in a fast-growing environment. This hybrid role offers a NYC-centric base with flexible work options.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience building data-intensive systems.
• Comfort integrating ML into products.
• Strong API and data modeling skills.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity.
• Excellent communication.
• Track record of shipping.

Responsibilities

• Technical ownership of Zocdoc’s Provider Engagement Platform, including roadmapping and prototyping.
• Design unified data layer for real-time personalization and recommendations.
• Architect event pipelines for engagement signals and health scores.
• Integrate ML models from Data Science into production systems and monitoring.
• Define APIs and contracts between platform services and product surfaces.
• Mentor engineers and drive cross-team collaboration.
