Qualifications

• Breadth‑first mindset – own a wide area well over deep niche expertise.
• Solid experience in cloud infrastructure, DevOps or platform engineering (GCP, AWS, or both).
• Deep Kubernetes expertise – deploying, scaling, debugging, upgrading and operating production clusters.
• Observability expertise – building monitoring, alerting, and tracing that engineers actually use.
• Comfort with security responsibilities, curiosity about best practices and willingness to learn.
• Background in a startup or cloud‑native environment, understanding scaling vs over‑engineering.
• Judgement on worth‑solving problems, avoiding chasing technical perfection.
• Strong collaboration skills – building platform that helps people, not just technically correct infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Own the company’s cloud infrastructure end‑to‑end – reliability, performance, cost, observability and developer experience.
• Champion an observability culture so engineers own what they ship, providing dashboards, alerting and tooling.
• Set guardrails for safe AI usage – establishing security best practices and working ways.
• Lead information security accreditations (ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials) and strengthen the security posture.
• Audit gaps and implement pragmatic improvements to security.
• Work closely with engineering teams to build platform features that help them move faster.
• Evaluate and improve IT and vendor arrangements, including managed services.
• Tie every infrastructure decision back to business value, avoiding unnecessary technical over‑engineering.
