Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Principal Kubernetes Engineer to lead the design, development, and evolution of a secure Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) for the U.S. Space Force's Space Systems Command.

You will serve as the senior technical lead for one of four Kubernetes environments, driving scalable, secure platform services that enable rapid software delivery across hybrid cloud environments. This hands-on leadership role requires deep expertise in Kubernetes, Azure, IaC, CI/CD, and platform security.

Qualifications

• 8+ years designing, building, and operating production Kubernetes platforms.
• Active Secret security clearance.
• CKA certification and DoD information assurance familiarity.
• Experience with Azure Cloud Engineering and cloud-native infra.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate enterprise Kubernetes platforms for secure hybrid cloud and on-prem environments.
• Architect scalable, highly available platform services for secure software delivery.
• Develop reusable platform capabilities to simplify deployment, operations and lifecycle management.
• Implement IaC, automation, and CI/CD to improve consistency, reliability, and efficiency.
• Engineer secure Kubernetes services with identity, policy, secrets, and hardening.
• Improve platform observability, performance, and resilience through monitoring and dashboards.
• Collaborate across teams to design integrated platform solutions and provide technical leadership.
