Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is hiring a Cloud Engineer (AWS) in London to design, build and operate AWS platforms and security models for UK-based clients. The role requires travel to customer sites up to 3 days per week onsite, including 1 day every two weeks in Bath.

You'll work with Senior and Principal engineers to deliver scalable cloud platforms, IaC deployments, and platform tooling within AWS. A UK-based applicant is required and SC clearance readiness is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience building AWS resources using Terraform or other IaC and Python for Lambda development.
• Understanding of the Shared Responsibility model and AWS security benefits.
• Experience building, deploying and operating containers (Docker).
• Knowledge of security guardrails (SCP, Config).
• Familiarity with platform engineering vs DevOps and operating services in production.
• Experience with AWS security services.
• Strong code testing, packaging, release and team-based deployment practices.
• Kubernetes experience.

Responsibilities

• Building, testing, packaging, deploying and operating cloud platforms with AWS environments.
• Automating infrastructure resource builds in AWS.
• Packaging services into AMIs, Docker containers or Serverless deployments.
• Creating IaC using Terraform.
• Delivering platform improvements and new tools.
• Building AWS resources using Terraform/CloudFormation and Packer.
• Delivering work in an agile environment.
• Kubernetes administration.
