Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with Kubernetes-centric platform
• Deep understanding of Kubernetes internals: controllers/operators, CRDs, networking, cluster architecture
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, OpenTofu, Pulumi)
• Experience with CI/CD and deployment tooling (Spinnaker, ArgoCD, Flux, Jenkins)
• Clear, thoughtful communicator across engineering teams
• Empathetic partner to product engineers with ownership and autonomy
• Preferably experience with AWS infrastructure and EKS

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve the company’s compute platform
• Design, implement, and scale core Kubernetes platform capabilities used across ~70 clusters
• Lead modernization efforts (e.g., new CNI plugin) across clusters and regions
• Rewrite core deployment service from TypeScript to Go and apply Kubernetes operator patterns
• Raise the bar on platform maturity and governance
• Improve developer experience for service creation and deployment workflows
• Partner with Security to implement governance, least privilege, image signing
• Define and uphold SLOs and operational excellence
• Lead through technical influence and mentorship
• Spend ~70% on hands-on engineering and ~30% on reviews and cross-team collaboration
• Review architecture proposals and guide infrastructure decisions
• Mentor engineers on distributed systems and Kubernetes design
• Collaborate with developers deploying services across the company
