Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is hiring a DevOps / Platform Engineer to join a lean, high‑capability Platform Team that supports the entire engineering organization. You’ll manage GKE environments, IaC with Terraform and Crossplane migrations, and cloud-cost control across multiple regions and accounts.

You should be hands-on with Kubernetes, Terraform, and Python, comfortable in startups, and able to collaborate with other teams. This role is fully remote with opportunities to align with hubs.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Kubernetes experience across GKE/EKS/OnPrem or other managed services.
• Terraform as primary IaC; Terragrunt a plus.
• IAM/identity management on GCP or AWS.
• Experience with ArgoCD or similar GitOps tools.
• Observability tooling experience (Honeycomb/Datadog/Grafana/New Relic).
• Proficient in Python to automate platform tasks and tooling.
• Background in startups or scale-ups; comfortable with ambiguity and multi-hat roles.
• Strong communication to translate infra to engineers; incident response experience.

Responsibilities

• Support engineering teams in developing robust applications on GKE, block issues, advise best practices.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code using Terraform and ArgoCD; work on Platform applications in Python.
• Manage multi-region GKE environments; IAM on cloud providers involved.
• Triage issues in existing apps; monitor health; enable SDLC improvements for other teams.
• Contribute to migrating IaC to Crossplane and expand multi-region, single-tenancy environments.
• Drive FinOps to gain visibility into cloud spend across accounts and environments.
• Design access patterns for BYOC/single-tenancy and complex multi-environment landscapes.
• Instrument and improve observability with Honeycomb, Grafana.
