Job summary

Capital Group is seeking a Platform Engineer Lead to set technical strategy and own the automation backbone of our cloud ecosystem. You’ll design, build, test, and evolve platform products, spanning provisioning, lifecycle, and governance, used by thousands of engineers.

You will mentor senior engineers, partner with leadership, and drive Day 2 operations, FinOps, and security controls while enabling faster internal cloud adoption and scalable delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
• At least 10 years in Infrastructure Automation/Platform Engineering with 8+ years leading large-scale cloud platforms.
• Strong software development background with Terraform/OpenTofu/CDK and GoLang for custom providers and tooling.

Responsibilities

• Architect and lead the platform engineering efforts across the cloud ecosystem.
• Define backbone automation, tooling, and self-service capabilities for internal users.
• Mentor engineers, drive enterprise standards, and align with FinOps, security, and governance.
