Job summary

Twilio is seeking an experienced Software Engineer, Platform Engineering (L3) to design, build, and operate highly available backend services at scale. You will work across AWS and Azure, running Kubernetes beyond managed services and applying Terraform to automate infrastructure.

You will mentor engineers, lead technical sprint planning, and help improve code quality and observability across distributed systems in a remote-first environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating resilient backend services at scale.
• Experience with Kubernetes, EKS, and zero-downtime upgrades.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools for code generation and testing.
• Hands-on GitOps with ArgoCD and CI/CD tooling.
• Go (Golang), Shell, Terraform, and YAML proficiency.
• Cloud experience with AWS or Azure, incl. EKS/AKS, S3/Blob Storage.
• Terraform for infrastructure as code and environment parity.
• Distributed systems knowledge and observability.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate services to manage Kubernetes clusters at scale.
• Partner with product management and leadership to break down requirements into milestones.
• Drive rigorous code reviews and maintainable patterns with high tests.
• Manage cloud configurations across AWS and Azure with Infrastructure as Code.
• Ensure observability with metrics, alerts, and tracing across data pipelines.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead technical sprint planning.
