Job summary

Twilio, a remote-first company, seeks a Software Engineer for Platform Engineering (L2) to help scale backend services across AWS and Azure. You will work with Kubernetes, Terraform, and AI-assisted tooling to write production code and improve system health.

Ideal candidates have 1–2+ years in software engineering, Kubernetes experience, and a willingness to learn new tooling while collaborating with senior engineers in a distributed, multi-cloud environment.

Qualifications

• 1–2+ years of software engineering experience, with backend focus.
• Experience with Kubernetes operations (deployments, pods, services).
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and CI/CD pipelines.
• Exposure to Terraform or similar IaC tools.
• Knowledge of cloud services (AWS/Azure) and networking basics.
• Solid CS fundamentals and data structures.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate services and automations that support Kubernetes at scale.
• Participate in code reviews and follow testing standards.
• Support cloud configurations using Terraform across AWS and Azure.
• Maintain observability via metrics, alerts, and tracing.
• Identify technical debt and contribute to architectural health.
• Collaborate with peers and mentors to grow into a senior role.
