Job summary

Rondo is seeking a Platform Engineer in Chicago, offering a hybrid work model, to design, build, and maintain scalable platform infrastructure powering AI-driven care coordination products.

You will develop backend services, optimize databases, implement observability, and enhance deployment pipelines while collaborating with engineers, data teams, and clinical stakeholders to ensure reliable hospital operations and EMR integration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in CS/Engineering or related field.
• Strong programming skills in modern backend languages and APIs.
• Experience designing and operating cloud-based infrastructure.
• Proficient in CI/CD, security practices, and reliability engineering.
• Database design, performance tuning, and query optimization.
• Troubleshooting production issues in distributed systems.
• Experience in healthcare, SaaS, or regulated environments is a plus.
• Familiarity with EMR/EHR integrations and HIPAA considerations.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure platform infrastructure for AI-driven care coordination products.
• Develop and integrate backend services and APIs; optimize databases and deployment pipelines.
• Implement observability, monitoring, and automation to ensure reliability and performance.
• Collaborate with software engineers, data teams, and clinical product stakeholders.
