Job summary

Optum is seeking an experienced software engineer to design, build, and optimize AI-enabled healthcare software solutions. You will work on secure, scalable services and APIs using Java/JEE, Spring Boot, ReactJS, and cloud-native tools.

Collaborate with data scientists and platform teams to deliver impactful provider solutions. You will contribute to automated testing, CI/CD, and observability, ensuring high-quality code and reliable data flows.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of team programming experience with Git version control.
• 3+ years of advanced Java/JEE development with Spring Boot.
• 3+ years of experience with Java stack including ReactJS, REST, JWT, OAuth.
• 2+ years of database experience (MySQL, MongoDB).
• Hands-on experience across full Java lifecycle and OOP.
• Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Apply AI tools and capabilities to build provider-use case solutions.
• Design, test, deploy, and improve production-grade services and APIs.
• Develop AI capabilities using prompt engineering and model evaluation.
• Collaborate with product, data science, and platform teams on requirements.
• Follow architecture standards, reusable platform components, and best practices.
• Write tests, evaluate models/prompts, and implement CI/CD pipelines.
• Integrate AI with enterprise data, APIs, cloud platforms, and secure data flows.
• Own end-to-end technical work and move AI features to production.
