Job summary

R1 RCM, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer – Data Platform to help build the data foundation of PhareOS Stack, powering AI-driven healthcare applications.

You’ll develop backend schemas and APIs that enable the AI engine and user-facing tools, handling large-scale ingestion, transformation and serving of healthcare data. You will design scalable data infrastructure, partner with AI and product teams, and ensure observability and security.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience in data platforms.
• Proficiency in Scala and SQL; design/operate production-grade data platforms.
• Experience building microservices, APIs, and ETL pipelines using Python, Java, or Go.
• Hands-on experience with Databricks, Spark, Airflow, Kafka or similar.
• Experience designing API integrations and distributed systems with external partners.

Responsibilities

• Designing and operating large-scale data pipelines, backend services, and APIs for AI-powered healthcare applications.
• Building scalable data infrastructure using modern data engineering technologies and cloud-native architectures.
• Partnering with AI, ML, and product teams to deliver reliable data foundations for internal models and customer products.
• Driving observability, reliability, and operational excellence through monitoring and automation.
• Owning production systems and influencing architecture decisions for the data platform.
