Job summary

Speechify is seeking a Software Engineer, Platform in Frisco, TX to own and scale the backend systems behind payments, subscriptions, auth, and the TTS API. You will work across iOS, Android, web, and desktop integrations to ensure reliability, latency, and billable accuracy across multiple clients.

The role emphasizes building robust, low-to-no-toil services, automating repetitive work, and designing enterprise integrations.

Qualifications

Must have backend experience with TS/Node.
GCP experience required; knowledge of AWS or Azure preferred.
Demonstrated ability to hand off ownership and reduce toil.
Ability to describe AI agent workflows and unattended processes in detail.
Ability to verify results using logs, DB state, and actual requests.
Good judgment on what not to build and clear rationale for decisions.
Open to feedback and learning from others.
Experience with containerized deployments (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).

Responsibilities

Design, build, and own the APIs behind payments, subscriptions, auth, consumption tracking, and the public TTS API.
Improve services to be faster, cheaper, and more robust.
Validate changes with upfront checks and ensure long-term correctness.
Automate repetitive parts of the role to increase team efficiency.
Replicate successful work across the team for repeatability.
Design B2B and enterprise integrations built on top of us.
Collaborate with product, mobile, and web teams to keep backend architecture ahead.
