Job summary

Speechify is seeking a Software Engineer, Platform in College Station, TX, to own backend APIs behind payments, subscriptions, auth, and the public TTS API. The role focuses on building scalable, reliable services used across iOS, Android, web, and extensions.

You will work with product and frontend teams to push architecture forward, automate repetitive work, and ensure correctness across multi-client scenarios. This is a hands-on, full‑stack platform role in a fast‑growing company.

Qualifications

• Proven backend experience in TS/Node.
• Direct experience with GCP; working knowledge of AWS/Azure.
• Strong focus on correct, scalable backend design and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own the APIs behind payments, subscriptions, auth, consumption tracking, and the public TTS API.
• Improve and optimize existing services for speed, cost, and reliability.
• Establish correctness checks before shipping and automate repetitive work.
• Turn one-off work into reusable components for the team.
• Collaborate with product, mobile, and web to keep backend architecture aligned with product direction.
