Job summary

Speechify seeks a Software Engineer for the Platform team in Norfolk, VA (remote within the US). You will own the backend systems powering payments, subscriptions, auth, and the public TTS API, serving millions of users across platforms.

You will drive performance, reliability, and scalability while collaborating with product, mobile, and web teams. Ideal candidates have TS/Node backend experience, strong GCP skills, and a track record of automating complex systems.

Qualifications

• Proven backend experience in TS/Node
• GCP experience; working knowledge of AWS or Azure
• Ability to automate and improve systems for reliability
• Experience with AI-assisted workflows and tooling
• Strong focus on logs, metrics, and correct state across services

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own APIs for payments, subscriptions, auth, consumptiontracking, and the public TTS API
• Improve services to be faster, cheaper, and harder to break
• Verify correctness before shipping and embed checks for long-term correctness
• Automate repetitive tasks and enable the team to scale
• Turn one-off work into repeatable patterns for the team
• Design B2B and enterprise integrations on top of Speechify
• Collaborate with product, mobile, and web to stay ahead of the product roadmaps
